SynergEyes Contact Lenses

Caplan Eye Clinic offers some of the latest technology in contact lenses to date. Patients who were previously told that they would never be able to wear contact lenses successfully, are now able to achieve vision equivalent if not better to their eyeglasses.

Our contact lens expert Dr. Jennifer Elumelu, O.D. specializes in hard to fit contact lenses including patients with presbyopia, severe dry eye, keratoconus, and irregular corneas caused by everything from high amounts of astigmatism to corneal graft transplants.

Among the types of SynergEyes Contacts we specialize in are:

Hybrid Lenses
Hybrid contact lenses attempt to give people the visual acuity of a rigid gas permeable lens with the comfort of a soft contact lens. Caplan Eye Clinic offers SynergEyes Ultrahealth® which is a hybrid contact lens that is comprised of a center gas permeable contact lens with an outer skirt made of silicone hydrogel.

Scleral Lenses
Scleral lenses are designed for patients that have keratoconus,

irregular corneas, corneal transplants, and even patients with severe dry eye. Caplan Eye Clinic offers one of the newest and most technologically advanced scleral lenses, SynergEyes VS®.

These lenses are very comfortable and provide great visual outcomes.
